during their lucky 1-0 win over leverkusen in the cl qualifier yesterday, lazio supporters made racist chants whenever tah / bellarabi / wendell were in possession of the ball. referee eriksson even threatened to abandon the match if the chants didn't stop. why is this still such a problem in italy?
and to make matters even worse, lazio director igli tare denied any racist motives after the match and made the ridiculous excuse that the fans shouted "ooh" to "frighten and intimidate" the leverkusen players... pure coincidence they obviously thought only non-white players are intimidated by their chants, huh?
disgraceful...
wrong infos at all
No racist incident has been reported either by the referee or by the match delegate, therefore no disciplinary proceedings have been opened," the spokesperson said. "The public announcement in the stadium was a proactive message from the Italian police."
