Driving without a license is in my opinion far worse, I'm not saying what Vidal did isn't bad but this is a one time thing, while Reus had 6 offences already.

While both are wrong, DUI is far worse regardless of your opinion lol. Look at every single country on planet earth law. DUI has much harsher punishments and fines, plus jail time in the majority of countries while driving without a license will only get you some small fines and possibly suspend any future driving privileges for a period of time... Not even close in comparison actually.

How I see it is when you're intoxicated you can't think straight, but if you just drive without a license you are clearly understanding that you don't have the required diploma to drive.

Again, both are extremely wrong but I think it's too harsh to judge Vidal for this once incident.

I'm afraid I don't have my license as of yet, and I'm also afraid I don't drink.

Could be, all speculations tho. I felt like he really meant his apology and that this should be a one time thing.

And nope, only water for me I'm afraid :p

How about Reus? He simply got a massive fine for driving without a driving license and got 6 offences..

Reus could easly have gotten into accidents aswell, the only thing is that Vidal actually crashed his car.

regarding reus: it's embarrassing that it took authorities so long to figure it out in the first place but when they did he was treated like anyone else would have been - which is according to the law. first big difference!

also, he was driving without a license which resulted in some speeding tickets. don't get me wrong, this is a crime which should not be taken lightly and definitely be punished -
but dui is so much worse imo and let's not forget it resulted in a crash involving another car and since you like your "could" so much: this could easily have resulted in deaths...

and plz don't try to make this about "judging vidal" - that was never the point. what i find ridiculous is that he gets away with it like that. i even believe him when he says he's sorry (at the very least about hurting his girlfriend and about crashing his ferrari) but trying to intimidate the policemen arresting him and lying at his press conference (no way you have a blood alcohol of .12 - .15% from "two drinks") should make you wonder how genuine his apology really is...

again, no way a german, english or dutch football player would have gotten away with it like that - and i'm pretty sure you know that. so stop pretending they would have just to justify your initial statement, that's ridiculous...

Sorry mill. But someone who drives whilst drunk should be shot in the kneecap. People could literally die from their stupidity.

Driving without a licence is bad aswell, but at least they don't have the reaction speed of a rock.

They don't have the education needed to drive on the streets either, one stupid mistake shouldn't cause his life to be ruined

Wonder if he will be allowed to play after being charged with DUI and totaling his Ferrari. Just so happens to be IN CHILE, so my best bet is slap on the wrist, no jail time.

Chile DUI law:

From 15 March 2012: 0.03%-0.08% the driver is considered to be driving under the influence and carries a three-month suspension and a fine of US$82-US$410 (as of 19 March 2012); over 0.08% the driver is considered to be drunk and carries a prison term of 61 to 301 days, a fine of US$164-US$820 (as of 19 March 2012) and a two-year suspension for the first offense, a five-year suspension for a second offense, and a life suspension for a third offense.
