sure kroos is a solid player, sometimes has shiny moments but overall i'd rate him just "solid"
besides that, he was unsatisfied with his position in the bayern squad (not enough playtime), thats why he wanted to leave.

the only reason i could see for alaba wanting to leave, is that he already won pretty much everything possible with bayern and is now searching for a new challenge
but honestly i doubt he will leave in the near future, since (as already said by ampoo) he enjoys a huge standing in the team (aswell as he is a crowd favorite) and plays pretty much whenever he isn't injured at whatever position HE likes to play (pretty sure it wasnt pep's idea to put him as a DM)
besides that, bayern wouldnt let him go, unless he wishes to go. he still has 3 years on his contract, bayern does not need money at all and i don't see any1 in the world replacing alaba 1:1

oh, no doubt about that, you're right. but he mentioned that pretty early in his career, definitely before pep joined bayern. and as long time bayern fan you will surely remember that under heynckes he already sometimes played in central midfield or even as a winger.
but playing him as a defensive mid for an extended period of time did not happen until guardiola. and he does not strike me as the person who puts players on the position they want to play just because they say so (see lewandowski)...
