Yes, I wasn't referring to them, but the people who may choose to buy them.

Only applies to elite players though, I'm sure players like Nacho and Arbeloa earn much more from sitting on Madrid's bench than from sponsors.

no it doesn't and i bet those players you mentioned make more from sponsors then they actually get paid from the club.

athletes in any sport make way more money from sponsors and endorsements then they would their whole career playing.

Incorrect... Only the major players like (commercially) like Ronaldo, Messi, Rooney etc make more from sponsors/endorsements than club.

90% of the time the reason they buy the shoes is because their favourite athlete "uses" them.

And? how much does coke pay him?

in any case we can definitely conclude that endorsements are only a tiny fraction of a football players overall income.

Look at for example Ribery..

salary: $17 million
endorsements: $1 million
total = $18 million..

or Yaya toure..

salary: $18 million
endorsements: $3 million
total: $21 million

you sure as hell are not considering them in the realms of cr7 messi etc.

and btw yaya makes a shit load in sponsorship LOL he has commercials playing over here in hawaii you just proved my point.

/e no you didn't bring them up but you interjected your self into a convo that had nothing to do with you. so imma assume you agreed with that other dude 100%

Your original statement:

Quote (knucks101 @ Sep 30 2014 07:26pm)
athletes in any sport make way more money from sponsors and endorsements then they would their whole career playing.

Zark's reply to that statement:

Quote (zarkadon @ Sep 30 2014 07:31pm)
Only applies to elite players though, I'm sure players like Nacho and Arbeloa earn much more from sitting on Madrid's bench than from sponsors.

You disagree with Zark:

Quote (knucks101 @ Sep 30 2014 07:34pm)
no it doesn'tand i bet those players you mentioned make more from sponsors then they actually get paid from the club.

Now you're agreeing with Zark because I'm not using the #1 and #2 footballer in the world? (Messi, CR7)

why do you keep comparing world know players to the average player?you really don't understand what i'm talking about do you?

Make up your mind?!

After your statement about all athletes earning more from endorsements/sponsors Zark then tells you it only applies to elite athletes. Then you tell Zark he's wrong saying that non-elite athletes ALSO get paid more. I bring up world class elite players like Yaya toure (one of the best players in the world atm) and Franck Ribery (third best player of 2013) and now you complain about me using "average players" that are "not on CR7 or Messi level" ?
