Why? Laporta would spend the club's money on hoes and parties, and probably use Barça to relaunch his faled politcal carreer... Bartomeu got rid of Zubi and put out a fire in the club which allowed Barça to win the treble. He announced elections when Barça was at their worst point and he had absolutely no chance of winning them; just for that he deserves a massive respect imo.

Even though he was on Rosell's team it's unfair to blame him for all the mistakes the board made during these last years, once he became president Bartomeu has done a good job in silence.

Laporta's campaign was all about politics and signing a player Luis Enrique hadn't asked for...

Barca has always represented the catalan movement for independence, it was all the time not just football, hence the mes que un club.

Dont really see a problem there.

Not necessarily the independence, but rather "seny" or catalan identity.

Bartomeu supports the separatist movement, the difference is that unlike Laporta he didn't make a campaing about politics and supporting independence... why would anyone support such a campaign? If they want to vote for separatism, then they should wait 2 more months and vote for the separatist parties in the catalan elections.

There were some interesting things about Laporta's team such as brignign back Cruyff and Abidal to the club and staying away from Qatar, but they decided to make a campaign about politcs and paying 90M€ for Pogba (which Luis Enrique hadn't even asked for) rather than making it about football.

For me Bartomeu tackled the matter in a cowardly way, or put into plain terms he had no balls.

Whether you call it the goal is the same : independence.

Franco's been dead for 40 years now that whole independence stuff is getting rather old.
It's just another grouping of opportunist thugs that are pretending to care for the fortunes of the masses.
Barca is just another vehicle for those who make decisions to pretend to care for those who don't matter.
