good home win (1-0) from my boys against gladbach tonight (in horrible, carnival themed shirts though):

obviously happy with the result and the 1st half which was was really good. in the 2nd half gladbach created the better chances but fortunately raffael and especially hazard on a couple of occasions were not able to finish...

it is indeed insane, thank you for noticing. have you seen how many sprints our strikers, wingers and fullbacks make to put pressure on the opposite's build up play? i'm getting exhausted just watching them - and then latza and baumgartlinger (who is a massively underrated player imo) as workhorses in central midfield (and now frei is finally returning from his injury which means even more quality) - we worked very hard for the 27 points we have now (which makes it even more annoying when the refs steal them like last weekend). relegation seems like it's not gonna be a concern of ours this season - which basically would mean mission accomplished yet again...

you also run the biggest risk of burnout though so don't get too comfortable

you will be fine with a secure place in midfield

your manager leaving for schalke in summer will be a huge blow though

biggest risk amongst which teams? it's not like we're the only team putting in physical work to make up for individual quality and obviously and it's a major part of our preparation and training (that and tactical awareness).
and while it's theoretically true that so much effort leaves you vulnerable to burnout / fatigue, we have the "advantage" that we can focus on one competition only and that our players had time to recover in the winter break. so even if we run into a bad phase (which is entirely possible), the 9 points we're currently above the play-off spot (13 point above direct relegation even) look pretty good at this point in the season (19 of 34 games played).
also, that doesn't take anything away from the "beauty" of our game which is tactical discipline, individual passion and great teamwork...

absolutely. i already commented on that:

[...] looks like we are going to lose our manager christian heidel to f*cking schalke. he's one of the main reasons we were so "successful" (by our standards) in the last two decades. we are used to replacing our best players each season and our coaches too (both of which have been his tasks and he always managed to find suitable and affordable replacements) but losing him would be a massive hit and it'll take more than just a little luck to recover from such a blow. i've always said in that department (management) we might just be top 3 in germany... not anymore it seems...
