Cech would be the only transfer in I would like to see. (Would only be a loan if anything)
We've had very little success with players brought in after a good World Cup, and don't actually think Ochoa is all that good.
Jackson Martinez, way overpriced in my opinion if we're going on any of the figures that have been circulating. Decent player, but wouldn't pay over the odds for him. Higuain, I've wanted in a Liverpool shirt for a long time, however, all depends on the price. Both strikers would be a gamble as we wouldn't know how they would adapt to the Premier League.
Borini and Balotelli, out the door please!
Ochoa for the price of 1.5m is worth it even if he's average, although I'd prefer Cech too.
Jackson Martinez has had a very consistent record for the last 4 seasons. 27.5m compared to 25m for Lallana...ok it may still be overpriced but relatively it's cheaper and that's what proven in their prime strikers go for these days. His only weakness really is the league he has been playing in but physically he is perfect for the prem. Higuain would be amazing but it's very unlikely in January at least.
If nobody came in during the window, I think 4th might be too much to ask. So what if we won against Swansea and there is a feeling of optimism atm, all it takes is 1 loss to cause panic again. If Cech came in we'd have a much better chance but it will be difficult AND Utd would have to slip up (Arsenal will make top 4 easy this year np)
So basically the only way I see of getting 4th guaranteed is if we bring in a keeper AND a striker. Relying on Sturridge to be fit has cost us quite a lot already, so relying on him to be back fit for any reasonable chance of 4th is a risk not worth taking imo.
