Glad Emre Can got put in the provisional Germany squad. He is a good central midfielder, not RB, but Germany have a lot of good midfielders already...

well i agree on him being quite a good midfielder and gündogan being out injured actually SHOULD help him to play there but that's not gonna happen...
the way i see it, kroos and özil obviously have to play both. the first option imo to play alongside them in central midfield would be khedira if he's fit, weigl if he's not. löw's first option will be schweini. both of them are currently injured or recovering from injuries so can or weigl could be the replacements (i'd prefer weigl though). that being said, löw sees can as fullback and most likely he will put özil on the wing again which means he can play two injured players, one of which has hardly played a match this season, alongside kroos...

Yep, even with Gundogan out Can is probably 4th choice central midfielder. You must have better right backs than Can surely?!

Can will play on RB/LB imho
Even though he has problems keeping that position and will randomly roam across the field...

Ah you already wrote that. i missed it

Better FBs are very hard to find in Germany...
Hector/Schmelzer/Rudy are kinda the only choices

well to be perfectly honest, since lahm retired, the fullback position (on both sides) is kind of weak for us.

the players löw chose, however, would ALL be playing out of position on the right side. can and rudy are midfielders, höwedes, rüdiger and mustafi are centre backs. amongst those, id pick höwedes though - he's quite used to playing that position in the national team and does it at schalke too sometimes.
durm would have been a natural right back but he has been injured for half the season. then again, the same is true for höwedes. the only actual fullback amongst those 27 players is hector, who played a solid season as left back for cologne...

it's ridiculous really, schmelzer (and i don't even particularly like him as a player) should have been an auto pick. that he not even made the preliminary team is a joke...

So Sturridge got a calf knock playing in the Europa league final, missed the Australia game, and got back in England training today. I always wanted him to start in the Euros because I know how good he can be but now I'm thinking maybe just take Rashford and give poor ol' Studge a rest
