Lucien Favre has resigned as head coach of Borussia Monchengladbach after they failed to collect a single point from their first five Bundesliga matches.

Damn I imagined him to stay even tho the results were bad

I really wasn't expecting that :O

He's a good manager, I'm sure he'll get a good job offer soon.

its pretty weird and not 100% confirmed
gladbach manager eberl has not accepted his resignation

Is it confirmed that he said it tho? Seems like a harsh call to not accept his resignation because Favre believes he's not the right man to lead the team anymore

winning everything with the best team in history of football for 3 (4?) years means that ur a worldclass coach,
while turning a 99% descender into a CL playing team in 4 years means that ur a random?!

difficult character, but an amazing coach, so many young players made huge advances under him.

this, your boys were like 2 minutes away from relegation and now you are in the cl with a medium budget (~8-10th place of all buli teams)

before pep showed us the true art, to actually build a team, its he who is a random
comparing those two i dont consider pep a coach at all, just some kind of hyped ideologist

how about him taking over some catalan farmers and them to glory?

Actually B. Moncheblablah was an average team underperforming when favre arived. Saved them (kinda hard -in playoffs -vs meh results) from relegation. Talents were brought to the club (best germany had at that point) so why people wonder those kids performed is beyond me. However Favre had 4 seasons at BM and 2 of those were mediocre (middle tab finish which reflects the quality in the squad - some might even argue they were underperforming). The other "CL" season - lost playoffs vs a shit team and this year he doesn't really play Champions League, he loses everything there is to lose Champions League. SAme as Bundesliga.

Then in hard times => First to leave the sinking ship.

Every game i've watched (under 10 games of last season) the team was a pain to watch, overly defensive and stunningly pathetic upfront.

As for the system, it's a copy paste of Simeone's atletico, executed poorly, crowded narrow defense out of which there rarely is a positive transition, long ball to forward to run onto or exploit the wingers - if lucky enough.
BOO-ring.
