This season has been so painful to watch.
Too much money spent on players that were branded top prospects without investing in quality players currently in or reaching their prime.
As happy as I was to see Lovren sign, he has been clueless in our defence. Moreno, for all of his attacking ability down the left flank, he lacks the basics in defending. Markovic, while not really having much of a chance, really hasn't shown anything from his brief appearances. Manquillo, I honestly don't know why we even signed him on loan. Flanagan and even Wisdom are better players. Lallana I'll hold judgment on as he's actually been producing something and hoping that it'll continue.
The worst of all is our strikers. With Sturridge out, none of our other strikers have done anything of note. Borini just isn't good enough. Lambert was never the answer to any of our questions, a sentimental signing if anything. And Balotelli has been completely useless. I was completely chuffed to see us sign him for 16m and had high hopes for him, but he has not shown up at all.
From what probably was over 100m in players signed, we have gone backwards. Suarez was our team, and sadly without him, we are just terrible.
