Mallorca will be playing away against Athletic's B team tomorrow (the only B team left in Segunda).

They seem to be a pretty weak team so far, and almost everyone considers them relegation food. We are missing a few starting players due to injuries and cards (and our keeper Wellenreuther is playing with Germany U21), but it could still be a good chance to get our second win in a row and first 3 away points... hopefully our manager doesn't park the bus like in the first away game.

does athletic's b team have even stricter rules considering the origin of their players? i mean like only players that were actually born in basque country for example?

I don't think so since players like Amorebieta (born in Venezuela but son of basques) have played in the b team.

ah ok, i know it was kind of a random question but i always thought they were such a fascinating club in terms of their player policy so i figured maybe the rules for their first team might be a little looser in order to stay competitive...

Raúl Tamudo is retiring.

Not sure if anyone here knows who he is, but he's a legend for Espanyol (where he began playing and spent 14 years of his senior carreer; he later played 1 season for la Real and 1 for Rayo before playing in Segunda for Sabadell until now) and is widely admired/respected in Spain.

Dispite playing surrunded by randoms throughout most of his carreer, he still managed to make it to La Liga's top 20 all time goal scorers.

He always had a great work rate, leadership, tactical intelligence, positioning and ability to score important goals (like the one that gave Espanyol the Copa del Rey against Atlético in 2000, or the goal he scored in the 95th minute for Rayo which allowed them to avoid relegation)... so, dispite the fact he didn't play for a big club, he has big reputation in Spain.

my main Czech team just got bought by some rich Chinese company.
I wonder how much they will invest? Maybe get slavia back into CL.

Was that striker who kept Espanyol above the line for some years. Had good control of the ball and nice finishing.
He has been great, always liked him and thought he could achieve more. Sadly after espanyol period he went missing :(

Hopefully a decent amount, Czech clubs gave european football fans some great mometns before Bosman's rulng... it's a shame that, like balkan and hungarian clubs, they can no longer do anything relevant in european competitions.

I prefer Sparta over Slavia though :P

Well, I agree he never performed at his best level once he left his club, but he still scored that ast minute goal for Rayo that kept them in Primera which isn't bad :D
