how many english managers and players again? i seem to have missed that part...
also, transfer fees are just a small part of the money argument - but even just looking at that, this is what you describe as 'not heavily invested / poundland transfers' in terms of net spend just the last 3 seasons:
chelski: € 232,65 M
arsenal: € 174,4 M
now let's start talking wages and then tell me again how money is not the main factor behind this. i'd be surprised if frankfurt's whole squad earned as much as hazard and higuain (the guy they 'loaned from his retirement home' - for the negligible salary of £ 270k per week) together...
by all means, celebrate your team's success, i'm 100% with you there and was rooting for kloppo's boys anyway ever since dortmund got eliminated - just don't embarrass yourself by acting this had anything to do with 'english' football (the 4th place in russia last year, your best wc result for decades, makes much more sense to celebrate from an 'english football' perspective). there's a reason none of your top teams has an english manager - not even their money, their owners are english (with tottenham, the team that spent the least by far, being the only exception)...
damn, haven't seen you this rattled in ages. keep up the excuses mate...
