i agree, but main players like gabi and godin are getting older, the one or the other player might leave the club and i dont know if atleti can keep this intensity up for another season after this blow
i dont mean to take anything away from real, but you wont get a better chance in the foreseeable future after defeating bayern+barca and facing a not exactly impressive real team in the final
bayern and barca will be back, real will certainly not be weaker next year and england preparing the next attack
still amazing what happened at atleti, a few years ago they were nothing
Well, they keep finding replacements that turn out to be better than the original, so I don't think losing someone would mean that they are going to step down. Godín should still have a few seasons of high level football left (30 isn't that old for a CB). Gabi is almost certainly leaving this summer, but I think he can be replaced (Augusto has been great, Cholo seems to have faith in Kranevitter and someone else could also be signed). What they desperately need is a new striker.
It will be interesting to see what will happen in this summer transfer window. They won't have a chance to sing anyone in the following 2 windows, so all of their transfers will have to be done now. I'm sure they will not allow anyone to leave in 2017, so they'll have to decide on who to let go now.
I agree that this defeat will be a huge blow for them, but I believe they can recover if Cholo stays. If he leaves though, I think they'll face a downfall. The squad is still young and developing; I think they need his guidance for 2-3 more seasons before they can fly under someone else's managment.
