Right decision, wrong timing. Should have been given the 2nd leg.
Forget the anomaly of last season where he had to make zero changes to a team that pretty much picked itself, this season has been dreadful and some of his line-up, tactical and substitution decisions have been nothing short of bonkers. He's been given plenty of time to turn things around, there are still no signs of it.
He's a really nice guy, and it's sad to see him go like this, but if he was 100% honest with himself he'd know that after FINALLY winning the prem he hasn't been motivated the same as before and it's a detriment we can't afford when only 1 point from the drop.
