So, Segunda Divisón starts tomorrow...
Mallorca will start the season away against Alcorcón, a team that has established itself as a middle-table team over the last few years and seems to aim to continue as one this season.
Unfortunately, I can't say I'm super-confident about this season... our squad is overall weaker than in previous years and I have my doubts regarding the manager. It's still good enough to make it to playoffs on paper though, but this year we're not expected to be among the 2-3 title contenders...
But, who knows, the last 2 seasons we had a team built for direct promotion and we ended up in the bottom half of the table; maybe with a weaker team we will make it

The good news is that finally we are starting off a season without any drama, since in january our owner bought all of the club's shares, ending the war in the board... and preseason has gone pretty well, with decent results and, especially, good performances (which in those kind of games is more important than results imo).
Almería and Elche have the strongest squads on paper (but Elche is facing a lot of problems atm after they were relegated due to debts a month ago, so they might struggle) and will aim for direct promotion; Mallorca is a step behind them... probably along with teams like Valladolid, Zaragoza, Córdoba and newly promoted Oviedo (which has built a nice looking team). Of course there will be surprises and, like every season, a small team will make compete with the top teams with promotion.
It should be a pretty balanced season, at least in the battle for playoffs, and a signing before the window closes could really make a difference... I really hope Mallorca can make it because 2016 will be our 100th anniversary and we really want to celebrate it in Primera.
