-Alves deal probably not happening after all. I am deceived.
-Mascherano probably won't be sold either as Barcelona is refusing to sell because they are selling 2-3 other defenders (Verm, Bartra, Mathieu rumoured), so they need him which makes sense
-Juventus expected to complete 25M buyback clause for Berardi, would welcome him

Pjanic to Juventus nearly finalized. Juventus will pay the 38M release clause in his contract from Roma

Well, I'm not a fan of that either to be honest but Roma will get a nice chunk of change, they have Strootman back and will probably recall Paredes, who looks promising. Also, it probably allows them to keep Nainggolan, unless he asks for a move and they have Florenzi who really should be playing CM. So, Roma is quite set in the midfield department even with Pjanic's departure and now have money to strengthen other areas.

Juventus definitely needs a midfielder like him. Marchisio will be out until late October at the earliest after tearing his ACL. Khedira will miss his usual 20 games per year.

That being said, I'm not that big of a Pjanic fan myself, but I understand the move from Juventus' perspective and we have not had a truly creative CM since Pirlo has left.
