Good performance by our boys, they did the best they could to leave behind this ridiculous Lopetegui-sacking saga. I'm happy with how we played, but it's unfortunate that we couldn't win. Cristiano is such a beast... sucks so much when he's not on your side

apart from the individual mistakes it was a very good performance from spain indeed. clearly the better team tonight.

the one thing i'd criticise maybe is that you didn't seriously push for the 4th goal. not like all out attack obviously, but trying to create more clear cut scoring opportunities. spain looked insanely comfortable in possession, finding elegant and constructive solutions for almost every situation. most people, maybe even the players themselves, thought this was done and dusted - but one fk, one corner can be enough to destroy all the hard work you put in after trailing twice. not blaming hierro here, he didn't make any particularly defensive subs or tactic changes, i just had the feeling that spain was content with dominating possession and letting the time run out...

Just a few more hours until my boys face Argentina. Tonight will be a long night.
