thoughts on this? seems a bit strange how they insist it to be held at the bernabeau with so many other stadiums bidding to host it..

@Jays, Real Madrid stadium is like 50% bigger than Mestalla. 40k supporter for each team or just 22k because Real Madrid doesn't want?

Because it's a huge stadium they can fill, and it's somewhat equidistant from Barcelona and Bilbao (thus making it equally easy/hard for both fanbases to travel).

There's obviously other big stadia around, but the reason they want it to be held in Madrid is (officially) becuase it's not too close to either of Barcelona and Bilbao (like Valencia, Donosti, etc), while not being too far (like Sevilla would be).

The last time they played each other it was held in Vicente Calderón, iirc, which is big enough and in Madrid, so that could be a good place to host it.

I think they are not dead yet...

In any case, it's ridiculous that we have to wait until april every year to see where the final is going to be hosted... ffs I can't wait to get rid of Villar.

Personally, I think it would be cool if they rotated more often, over the last few years it's almost always Bernabeu/Mestalla/Calderón... it would be nice to see the final held in other stadia. Anoeta wants it, they might as well give it to them, it's not that far from Barcelona any way.
