Another few changes in our system

Play off 1 teams normally get half of their points in the competition, they have decided to remove this feature so no points are being removed!
Winner of the regular competition before play offs is sure of european place
Yellow cards get removed when PO starts

Good changes

I still find Belgian playoffs to be a ridiculous thing.

Well at least a somewhat logical change ^^

It's needed tho, we don't have enough quality teams to have a normal competition. Play off 1 is extremely exciting to watch too

Reduce the teams to 10 and have 4 rounds of games, or reduce them to 12 and have 2 rounds of games and then divide the league in top and bottom 6 for another set of 10 games. Having less clubs in top flight would make for a healthier second level, which seem to be a graveyard by what I've heard from you.

Most leagues that aren't consistently in the top 10 of UEFA's coefficient rankng are reducing their teams to 10-12 (Austria, Switzerland, Scottland, Denmark, now Croatia aswell)... I think Belgium should do the same (although it would be bad for your boys :( )

Or if you really want to keep the 16 teams in top flight then you could have 4 groups of playoffs: positions 1-4 fight for the title, 5-8 send their winner to play against the loser of 1-4 for an EL spot, positions 9-12 send their loser to a relegation playoff, positions 13-16 send their loser to relegation while the other 3 play a playoff with the last placed from 9-12.

Or something like that... the playoff system you had for EL and relegation was really weird, and the one you have now is even worse.

first thing i hear to be honest and i certainly wouldn't object although i do think this would be a little excessive and hard to justify in a court of law if he were to fight it. i mean there's obviously the fair play issue and misrepresenting the club but it's not like the spahic case for example (he assaulted members of the security staff after the game for not letting his friends into restricted areas) or like a deliberate career ending tackle or anything along those lines...

ok, i looked it up now. apparently our manager (christian heidel) is mad about it and said that if they get an offer for him they would sell him immediately. he didn't like the "oil check" obviously but even more so the theatrics after the incident. that being said, imo jara didn't have a bright future in our team anyway. he hardly ever played in the 2nd half of the season - even before schmidt took over the team. but again, just releasing him for that could prove difficult...

in other news, okazaki is as good as gone. it's not official yet but his move to leicester is as good as done. a shame really. loved the guy, always giving everything for the team, a true warrior. and a really good striker, surprisingly robust and lethal in front of goal... and i'm curious who we will sign to replace him because i don't think the striker we signed (niederlechner) from 2. bundesliga is the intended replacement although his last season wasn't bad at all (15 goals / 10 assists in 33 games for a mid table club)...

well, it's official now... good bye and good luck at leicester, shinji...

I'm really not sure if the new one is worse than the one we used to have tbh. Play off 1 is fine, definitly with the new changes. We just need to find a solution for play off 2 and 3, they get next to no attention and the coaches use it as friendly matches to try out new players.

And now they have announced they will NOT be changing the rules, so the old play off 1 rules still stand -> points get deducted..
