first thing i hear to be honest and i certainly wouldn't object although i do think this would be a little excessive and hard to justify in a court of law if he were to fight it. i mean there's obviously the fair play issue and misrepresenting the club but it's not like the spahic case for example (he assaulted members of the security staff after the game for not letting his friends into restricted areas) or like a deliberate career ending tackle or anything along those lines...

ok, i looked it up now. apparently our manager (christian heidel) is mad about it and said that if they get an offer for him they would sell him immediately. he didn't like the "oil check" obviously but even more so the theatrics after the incident. that being said, imo jara didn't have a bright future in our team anyway. he hardly ever played in the 2nd half of the season - even before schmidt took over the team. but again, just releasing him for that could prove difficult...

in other news, okazaki is as good as gone. it's not official yet but his move to leicester is as good as done. a shame really. loved the guy, always giving everything for the team, a true warrior. and a really good striker, surprisingly robust and lethal in front of goal... and i'm curious who we will sign to replace him because i don't think the striker we signed (niederlechner) from 2. bundesliga is the intended replacement although his last season wasn't bad at all (15 goals / 10 assists in 33 games for a mid table club)...

oh yeah now that you mention it - i heard or read that too like a week ago. i was thinking to myself "hey, that'd be a really decent signing and i guess that means okazaki is as good as gone" but i forgot about it.
damn, i'd really kinda like the idea (although he's not the same kind of striker okazaki is, he's much less involved in the game, less mobile, more like a pure striker) but i also feel for freiburg... that'd mean they literally sold all of their decent players after the season...

well from an economic point of view it is most certainly a good deal (although 1 mio. goes to his former club stuttgart afaik) but we still have to find adequate replacement which could prove difficult. then again, so far we always somehow managed...

your club has a very good and smart management
just look at how fast you had signed frei when geis left
you will be fine
