He has better passing than any German CB, faster, more agile, etc.... he is better at everything than they are. The only thing he has been lacking is positioning/consistency, which are VERY important for CB's. if he can improve in these two things, he will be one of the best.

I really don't like Bayern a bit, but they alone have like 3 CBs that are leagues above Luiz at passing. Boateng is a far better passer who consistently finds attackers even in the opponents' box and Hummels - compared to Luiz at least - is basically a CAM in disguise. And still both are weaker long passers than Badstuber.
There are other players from different nations as well... Bonucci or Pique to just name two.
And even agility/pace-wise, I don't See how anyone could disagree with Boateng having Luiz in bis pocket..
