nothing of the football event (which is obviously completely understandable) or nothing of ANY sports?

i will be watching some volleyball. real volleyball ofc, not that beach shit - and i'll be rooting for the brazilians since our boys and girls didn't make it unfortunately...
also somewhat excited for the rugby sevens tournament. other than that, maybe some judo and taekwondo if i'm bored...

track & field and the swimming events for example would only increase my boredom. maybe some "lowlights" of competitors from obscure nations almost drowning, that's always amusing, but the real shit is kinda boring to watch imo...

nothing at all, this entire event has become a joke
its not about sports anymore, the brazilian people are robbed for these overpriced and incredibly bad organised olympics
typical clean russian athletes can start of course

i was about to give the football event a chance, when my dad told me these guys couldnt even place the flags right and played the mexican anthem for our boys before kick off......no thanks
plus i watched an interesting documentary about the corruption in brazil for these games on ard last night

surely thats not exactly new, but these fuckers have taken it to the next level, its inconceivable

not gonna change the world of course, but i decided to skip this pile of crap, not even my favorite 100m and 200m events will bring me to watch

Zero interest in this tbh. It's a minor event, and since Spain isn't in it, there really isn't anything to make me want to watch these games over other Olympic events where spaniards are involved, even if football is by far my favourite sport.

Will probably watch the medal games, but I doubt I'll watch any other games.

Championship back on tomorrow so my excuse to have the olympic footy on the second screen has gone.

Obviously gotta tune into the womens beach volleyball

But the one I'm most looking forward to is the rugby 7's, could genuinely be top notch entertainment

I enjoy watching the 6 Nations tournament and the RWC, so I'll probably look into Rugby if it airs on tv here... I'm jut not sure how 7s will work out though, I've only ever watched standard Rugby.

Same, but from what the lads at work are telling me it's just the same thing with less players, meaning higher scoring and a lot faster paced. :D

really? that surprises me, i thought argentina was one of the few big football nations who actually cared about this tournament. didn't they win it last time?

They won it in Athens and Beijing iirc. Last time was won by Mexico.

tbf they sent a very watered down squad to the tournament since the good players had already played Copa América this summer... but it's still indeed surprising that they are out already.
