no one cares about euro league.. it says all if one team wins it 3 times in a row.. and sevilla did not well in the cl.

the difference between england and spain is following:
in spain there are only 3 teams fighting for the title.. barca atletico or real will win it next year.. more than half of the spanish teams are poor farmers as you can see when they play against real or barca.
in england we have many more title favourites.. many more than in other countries.. arsenal chelsea mancity liverpool tottenham etc etc.. thats the reason why its so exciting.. its obvious.

funny how you say "no one cares about euro league" when sevilla (a team you do NOT rate) destroyed liverpool (a team you called a "title favourite" in england) although they most certainly cared a lot (and you know that if you're being honest) for that title and the champions league spot that comes with it...

listen, i already said i hardly watch any la liga matches ( when i'm not watching bundesliga, my 2nd choice is usually premier league for all the big names, the drama and quite honestly because i find it funny to watch squads worth billions struggling with simple tactical tasks) - there is no doubt whatsoever which is the biggest league in terms of money / marketing / entertainment and i'm pretty sure no one is challenging this point. that doesn't make it the best league though and for sure it does NOT mean that the spanish league has only 3 good teams - just look how they perform against so called "top teams" and "title favourites" from other big leagues...

If it was the "best" league it would have the most viewers.

i am pretty sure justin bieber sold more records than kasabian. "better" music then, huh?

If you put it to a world wide vote the answer would be yes.

If you put what's the "best" league in the world to a world wide vote, the answer would be a resounding "English Premier league"

I don't understand why this upsets people, especially Germans. Most watch game in Germany that wasn't German was naturally, classico, second was Leicester vs Swansea, two nobodies from the premier league.

Must have been something entertaining about it eh?

this, however is not a valid argument - it's just a textbook example of an ad populum fallacy...

relax, mate - no one is upset. also, no need to bring nationality into this as other germans (dachschaden for example) disagree with me.
i'm just trying to explain how the whole "farmer league" / "poor except 3 teams" notion, that many premier league fanboys like to perpetuate in order to feel superior since la liga wins all the titles, is completely ridiculous when you look at the facts.

i already said that i generally prefer watching premier league over la liga - i'm not even challenging the entertainment point at all - there's nothing for you to "prove".
that being said, and this is not meant to be disrespectful to your boys who did an outstanding job this season, i certainly would NOT watch leicester vs. swansea - could you please link me the source for that being the 2nd most watched "foreign league" match in germany? very interesting...

I'll link it when I get home. No idea how I stumbled across it but I was reading it last night.

All I'm saying is epl is more entertaining and since you've agreed I'll leave it at that and let you argue with the others. ^_^

fair enough, it's funny though because i did not disagree with that at ANY point, i only disagreed with the "If it was the "best" league it would have the most viewers." part.
so what it comes down to is that you consider "best" is most big names / money / viewers and i generally think of it as "strongest" league...

Different strokes for different folks I guess.

Can't find that fucking article anywhere. Definitely read it somewhere though.

If I'd have dreamt it I'd have come up with a better game than Leicester v Swansea

liverpool sucked in euro league.. they should have lost against dortmund.. but they still had some great opportunities against sevilla.. penalty not given etc.. imagine a 2:0 after 45 minutes..
also i was not taling about the last season.. i was talking about the next season.. look at my first post here.. liverpool will become a great team under klopp.. and stronger next season.. manu with mou.. mancity with pep.. chelsea will play much better after this bad season.. arsenal etc etc..

right.. the spanish league is the best league.. for me barca plays the best football and i love watching them.. not a single english team is better than real or barca. BUT i said that the english league is much more exciting AND the performance difference is less.. if you know what i mean..

Just give it some time United-Chelsea-city-arsenal will be on par with barca again.

well the thing about the performance difference - that only holds true if you draw an arbitrary line that favours the premier league. when you look at the whole league, it'll tell you a different story: the point gap between first and last place in england was 64 points, in spain it was 59 points. england's weakest team managed to get 17 points, spain's weakest team almost doubled that at 32 points. the title race in spain went to the last match day and the 3 top teams finished within 3 points while leicester finished 10 points clear of arsenal - same about the relegation battle which was decided earlier in england than it was in spain...

again, i do agree about the 3 teams dominating that league (which is still 2 more than WE have here) - it is a fact and it's also true that in england there are maybe 4 or even 5 teams that have a somewhat realistic chance of winning the title but that does NOT mean the rest of la liga is "poor" (especially compared to their european counterparts) which was one of your original points...
