i know it's an unpopular opinion here but i don't have a problem considering them "real champions" despite their rather defensive and ugly style sometimes. they still pretty much dominated the league, did not allow themselves to be bad for a longer period of time and when they were bad they still got the results - that's what makes them champions.

and i remember well how most of the forum had no problem calling them champions when they won the cl back in '12. although they not only played incredibly ugly football but also got ridiculously lucky on top of it.

that basically shows me that most of the hate here is just jealousy. if they win against barcelona, bayern or madrid like that it's ok - rather petty...

Difference is that Barcelona, Bayern and Madrid are better teams than Chelsea, so playing like shit is justified against them.

Barca, real and bayern >>>>> all other teams in europe

you cannot beat them at their own game atm because they have the best players in europe IMO

whereas playing like that against Arsenal? Man utd? City? Liverpool? cmon.. Chelsea's team is way superior to any of them in all positions probably

Playing against the best teams in the world like that is justified, everyone does it, playing like that Against bottom of the table teams is pathetic.

If we could have gotten past that dreadful performance vs psg, I really think we would have beat barca.
They would not be able to score and we would score 1-2 on the counter.

Not that many here considered them real champions, and we still don't. They lucked out in the CL by using awefull style of play
You use jealousy as such an easy excuse. If you look at the past few seasons I for example had no problem admitting city were deserved winners, since they played attractive football.
Even after they beat us 6-3 I felt that the football won that day.

that IS a valid point but what it comes down to is that they still needed lots of luck to win that title and almost no one seemed to have a problem with it while in this premier league season they "just" had to employ their results-oriented style of playing to basically secure the league and almost everyone is outraged...

and again, i can understand ppl not being too happy with it and criticise them but to say they are not "real champions" for it and to make such rage threads about it is just plain stupid and petty imo...

They are real champions to me, but I don't like the way they play most of the time. Chelsea winning the champions league was good for us because only Man Utd had not embarrassed the PL in that respect.
