i think their transfers overall have been mediocre but the problem that presents itself in replacing players like suarez is - and this should not be taken as offense by liverpool fans - they don't get to pick amongst the best of the best. it's the same problem dortmund has...

right now only chelsea, city, barcelona, real madrid and bayern (and maybe united again soon) are in a situation that they can really choose to sign those top players because they have the money and the prestige...
clubs like arsenal, liverpool, dortmund or atletico are only 2nd tier in that regard. so unless you are able to sign a great talent and develop him into a top player quickly, it is a difficult task to replace a player like suarez...

that being said, the topic title "where has it all gone wrong?" suggests that being 5th currently is so bad while i think of it like that's realistically a place where they belong atm. somewhere between 3rd and 6th, last year was the exception imo...
so if you say "where has it all gone wrong?" and think of their title winning years you'll have to go what? like 25 years back? and a lot happened since then...

Wow fendur going to have to give you credit on this solid post.

their signings this season after they let Suarez go

i think i said this in the beginning of the season,

"their signings remind me of Tottenham's"

both clubs need better scouts

Relying on sterling all season, a small guy upfront on his own. Unlucky with Sturridge and balotelli is a joke.

Completely agree with you but the Arsenal part, I feel as if we are in the position where we can keep our main players and buy talents, but that's not the point of this topic ofc.

This year will be seen as a failure for Liverpool however, missing the FA cup final and playing "bad" in the league will be seen far short from the season they had last year.
I'm confident the signings will turn out good tho (most of them atleast) and with some solid investing in the next transfer window they could go high

Lol no. Arsenal is definitely not the same prestige as the 4 (or 5) clubs he mentioned.

Why? Because they are a top team? because they can get basically any player they want? Because DIDIER Drogba is a great person?
Because they are going to win the league? Because jose Mourinho is the best of best?
GG WP
I don't even want to see another post, since whatever you post cannot match mine. Impossible.
