the us fans shouldnt be too disappointed, they had a great game and amazing attitude
they only lacked the last bit of quality in the end

I tell you from a non neutral point of view, this match was INSANE

The last few minutes felt like hours

They were worse in 1986 and they still made it. An average team (especially in midfield and defense if we look at the players individually), but with an insan player that was on fire and capable of carrying the team by himself.

That's what they had back then and pretty much what they have now.

Don't forget we made it to the semis in 86


To then get beaten by Argentine

All of USAs games were intense

Lukaku has got his goal now I wonder if this will give him the confidence to perform better

and the real horrible truth when they actually reflect on their progress.

beat a terrible Ghana team who were at sixes and sevens with each other
drew against the worst Portugal team in modern history with a star that's half injured
lost against Germany (first decent team they played)
lost against Belgium (second decent team they played)

didn't really achieve anything at all. played awful football and look to have regressed over the past few years. A nice sour thought to take home with you Americans

cant really rate this, but i would suspect that they worked better as a team in 1986
in general, you are right, but football has changed a lot and aside from messis genius moments they are playing with ten men (or nine and a half with another striker parking upfront)
nowadays its far more difficult to have players like that in a team

i dont see their defense stand against a really good attacking side
