the only striker we have is 36 years old and was injured for half of the season. another brilliant decision by löw - give that man a medal, he's a f*cking genius!

i really like klose and hope he will be back in form but you can't just hope and expect that and leave all other options at home. other than him we only have müller who can play a decent striker, poldi is way too limited...

well a year ago, or even half a year ago i would have agreed and i'm pretty sure i actually said that he deserves to get another shot in the national team. right now he's not in such a good form, he had a weak 2nd half of the season (scored 9 in his first 14 games, and only 6 in the last 20) and he's not a player who can just compensate form with class tbh... still, imo he would have been a decent choice. just like volland, lasogga or maybe kruse.
since gomez was injured almost all season i can understand he wasn't picked but we just don't have a really good striker except from him and klose, that's the simple truth. and if a good one isn't available at least pick a decent one as backup imo... instead he wastes the extremely gifted götze as "false 9" where he proved to be utter useless... it's so frustrating, really...
