Since Valencia's decline, any team in Spain outside the big 2 take EL seriously, whereas the top 6 current EPL teams regard it simply as a failure.
And as I said before, drawing comparrisons from one off season alone, or one tie to be exact doesn't make any sense. It's the same as claiming that Lyon just a few seasons ago was in fact better than Real. Nobody can predict the future and I'm not arguing that La Liga can regain their lost positions, but atm they are behind EPL, cuz in terms of overal status they only have 2 clubs to match the English 6. And I'm not even talking about teams from the bottom half of the table.
