and other clubs do that too, Barça got the city of Barcelona to offer them 300M€ for the Mini Estadi (but I think the deal crashed because of the financial crisis, not sure)

There's a difference when it's a city helping you out. A country? that's abit to massive?

it's not comparable with a sheikh taking over, the club just sells their property like any individual can do with their own property, they don't sell their soul to make a powerful team like City, PSG or Chelsea. They got that property legitly and now they have the right to sell it.

but it's just like City selling naming rights to stadium for a ridiculous amount just to try and work around the FPP (they won't succeed btw)
same thing with clubs selling something worth xxm for xxxm

like I'm getting a house for 1 million euro, and then I let the city buy it from me for 15 million euros despite it's value not even being near it

I think selling the stadium's name is sad, but it's not something that shuld be forbidden. It's what they said when clubs started having names of companies on their shirts; people thought it was disgusting, but nowadays no one would say it should be forbidden.

What Real Madrid is going to do is sell some properties no one cares about; it doesn't affect the club's identity in any way. Also, you are asuming they are going to pay a ridiculous amount, while this wouldn't be surprising, we don't know if they really are going to pay a lot or not. Considering the current financial situation in Spain, I honestly don't expect a massive overpayment.
