2009 - Cristiano Ronaldo sold vs 80mm (Sir Alex wanted to demand 150mm, in hindsight they should have)
2019 - Harry Maguire signed vs 80mm

in any event, after years of not spending at the end of SAF era and then throwing money to short-term solve problems, investing in youth with an actual long-term approach plus a Prem-proven CB is the right direction.

if they manage to offload Lukaku for Dybala and randomly bring in Mandzukic for his workrate, i'll be quite pleased with this window. I don't think anything is legit with the Fernandes rumors but i'd take him too

?

e: i don't think he's coming either way. i'll take Mandzukic for 5-10mm though. then snap up either Lo Celso or Fernandes before Spurs too, but the real play is to snag Eriksen on a free as Levy won't sell

the tabloids are having a field day. Using United to generate clicks.

The sun, metro, daily express etc.

sensationalization of news, in this case transfers, as well as creating fake news under the cover of speculation.

why do people still read them ?

Maguire is alright, but for this sort of money you'd expect a world class player, rather than an alright one.

Doubt Dybala is happening now after throwing £80m at Leicester <_<

Tree+antonio+herrera all left. If we include the wages of romelu, there is more than enough to accommodate a player earning 200k - 300k pw wages.

it'd be a swap, United can include Darmian to make up the variance B)

Damn nice player but idk about that price honestly. English talent is always super inflated anyways. I think in the long run it'll be a nice signing.

£85m seems really high but with the massive inflation in the market I think clubs are starting to price in future inflation.

Spending world record fee on someone who's probably just barely in top 20 at his position in the world is just bad investment, this is gonna haunt us for years when every club will be trying to fleece us.

And when you thought you couldn't downgrade on Jones' occasional mongy face, Maguire is one ugly fucker -
