Looks like Ole and Phelan have completely changed the strategy when it comes to buying players, targeting young English players. Bought Daniel James, looking to get in Longstaff for £25m too according to Sky.

It worked for SAF winning the league with Young, Jones, Smalling, Cleverley and Welbeck, I don't think it'll work for Ole but let's see.

He's ridiculously toxic, honestly the last thing Utd's snake pit of a dressing room needs
I'd be willing to give him benefit of the doubt - it's PSG, their own players treat this club as a joke and only a means to make effortless money.

This is exactly what I don't understand - we don't need players who might come good in a couple of years, we need immediate first team ready players.

Besides even when Sir Alex was still here, De Gea is probably the last youngster of note who turned out to be an above average footballer, not a great record

You tried that when you bought one of the best wingers in the league and turned him into a bench warmer.

Utd don't have the pull they once did, going back to young hungry talent basics has to be the way forward.

We don't need to operate in two extremes of either signing established world class players who command arm and and leg in transfer fee or/and wages likes Sanchez or young, unproven players who only had a couple of decent months like James or Longstaff - I'd like us to go for younger footballers with a couple of years of experience under their belts who haven't won much yet but are ready to make the next step.

I think a mix of prospects and world class talent is pretty optimal. Maybe tending to stay away from the guys near 30+, especially if we aren't pushing for the CL in a given year

There is definitely a market opportunity in picking up young talent at cheap rates, but people are delusional if they think buying a couple somewhat promising brits is going to turn United into world beaters again.
The sport has changed.

i'd personally like to see us pick up the top-tier prospects like felix, de ligt etc if we are going to go in that direction.

Wan-Bissaka for £50m would be great, he's had amazing 18 months - probably the best right back in the league at the moment just behind Trent and he's only 21.

Not sure what that'd make of Dalot though.

Agreed. In all honesty, United should probably spend on AWB and then get a good fucking CB, whether they put out for Koulibaly or De Ligt, it just needs to happen. Then a CM would be severely helpful as well. I fancy Tielemans.

Signing Tielemans makes nearly too much sense

Right profile when it comes to age / ability / experience, Monaco want to sell and £40m is nothing in today's market especially in a position that we badly need improving.

aaaand Pogba is openly flirting with leaving, we all knew it was coming I suppose. If yanited are confident in acquiring the services of a top midfielder then I would sell him, but it's not clear whether they can without champions league football and the way the club is at the moment.
