while i don't even entirely disagree with that, it's not what your other post suggested. look at the framing, you were not talking about neymar or mbappé, but about 'half decent players', 'proper football', and 'pulling power' - and if you want to deny that for a back to back champions league finalist, and most definitely one of the top 5 teams in world football right now, you're clearly deluded.

yes, you might be able to raise the bar to ridiculous standards in order to exclude them in terms of certain categories, but that neither disproves liverpool's current relevance, nor the validity of jenjen's reply to your initial post, that's all i'm saying. suggesting a club is 'dead' just because they probably couldn't sign mbappé is just stupid imo...

Liverpool won Champions League in 2005, was dead before, was dead then and was dead right after.

Feeding on the past glory as they might be, United is still miles ahead in pulling power, although (coming back to my initial claim) can't really see top players signing for United.

My good friend fender, could you please refrain from interacting with the gypsy, in this very thread at the very least?

Wales winger Daniel James is set to complete a move to Manchester United after agreeing a fee worth around £18m with Swansea City.

James, 21, is expected to finalise the switch ahead of Wales' Euro 2020 qualifier in Croatia on Saturday.

The deal will see United pay around £15m up front for the twice-capped international with the remainder in add-ons.

Personal terms are thought to be already agreed with James.

He will become Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's first signing since becoming United manager.

James had been on the verge of a January move to Leeds before talks broke down while impressive performances in the Championship and with Wales has seen him linked to a number of clubs since.

The Swansea academy product - signed as a schoolboy from Hull in 2016 - made his breakthrough last season, scoring four goals in 38 appearances, while also scoring on his first Wales start against Slovakia.

Former club Hull are due a sell-on fee from the deal of around 5% of the up-front transfer.

James has been included in the Wales squad for Saturday's Euro 2020 qualifier in Croatia and Tuesday's game in Budapest against Hungary and the move is unlikely to affect his availability.

Finally some much needed pace on the right flank, hopefully the game against City wasn't just one off.

He looks great tbf. Not much spent on him so it's worth the punt. Good deal from United there, quite jealous.

MANCHESTER UNITED are ready to hand keeper David De Gea £20million if he LEAVES for Paris Saint-Germain now.

United’s money men are braced for a bid from the French outfit and will accept between £60m and £75m.

And — as we revealed last week — the Old Trafford club will have to give De Gea, 28, a whopping golden handshake to make him go now rather than wait until his United contract runs out next summer.

The figure of £20m is being mentioned by those involved and that would compensate United for the loss and may be enough for De Gea to up sticks sooner.

De Gea knows he stands to get a fortune from his next club if there is no transfer fee to be paid.

And he is happy to tough it out with United this summer unless he is paid to move on.

Insiders believe a compromise can be reached — and De Gea needs to be careful as there is a rival for the vacancy at PSG left by Italian Gianluigi Buffon.

Tottenham keeper Hugo Lloris is the main alternative and could yet get the call in the next few weeks.

He doesn't yet know what awaits him.
