Quaresma is a lot flashier and definitely more talented (I'd say he's one of the most talented players of his generation), but Beckham added a lot of work/flare into the team despite him being only good at crosses and free kicks, while Quaresma is lazy as fuck and goes invisible for most of the game. At the end of the day, mentality is such a decisive factor in how your career plays out. You can be like Beckham, who's only ability is to cross the ball, and make it into world class teams because you are a hard worker and true professional (obviously shirts sales help a lot, but he wouldn't have never played at such a high level without his commitment); and you can be like Quaresma, who despite being more talented can't play at that level due to his head not being focused on the field.
fair enough, valid point. i think that comparison just came to mind because they were both ridiculously good at crosses and freekicks...
