£12.8m is an excellent offer, what the hell are they playing at?

a club who paid 20 mio. for guys like jones and de gea and 10 mio. for bebe should really make a better offer for a quality player like shinji...

Heinrich, I want to talk about fachts.
Jones = English tax.
El Dave = long contract with the club keen to keep him

whilst Kagawa = one year on his contract, player forcing the move and the club resigned to selling him

all of that is very true, marcin. but you forgot the most important thing: kagawa >>> de gea, jones, bebe!

No one knows that yet, many high profile players coming from inferior European leagues failed to settle in England.

well, maybe you don't know it yet but be assured united scouts and fergie do. he is a high quality player and if united doesn't screw him up he'll be one of the best in premier league.
i think 20-25 mio. € would be a fair deal...

Perhaps if he's just signed a 5 year deal and was very unwilling to leave.

a well known fact that he has only 1 year left in his contract.

some facts you seem to overlook:

- dortmund is in a financially comfortable situation, they don't have to sell him at all costs
- look at his performance this year. he was one of dortmunds most important players, leading them to bundesliga and cup titles. they've got a champions league season to play and they want to prove themselves in europe. a player of his talent and abilities would always be a nice addition to the team. who says that isn't worth 15 mio.?
- united is not the only club interested.

i think dortmund will settle for ~20 mio. maybe even less but considering what english clubs pay for players like torres, carroll, henderson, lukaku and downing there is no reason to complain about dortmund wanting to be paid what he's actually worth...

Dude, he wants to play in England and no one else wants him except for us.
£12.8m is very acceptable offer for an unproven player.
