Really wierd how Jose has to take everything public. Why not just tell the players about their performances in a private meeting with them individually? Like every other coach does.

Imagine how hurtful it would be if your boss at your job pointed you out at a staff meeting how shit you are. You'd obviously want to have that discussion with your boss in private and get proper coaching and answers how you can improve yourself and do your job better.

thats his way to get rid of players he does not want anymore

The problem with Mourinho is that he feels entitled to do whatever he deems necessary in order to "benefit the team". If there's a player he deems useless, he can bash him to cause a distraction, set an example or whatever... it's not like it matters much if he becomes depressed, since he won't be playing much. If there's someone in the club that he feels doesn't sway his way, he will try to get rid of him, even if he's club legend. And so on.

This wasn't a problem when he was managing Porto, Inter or Chelsea the first time, because the players were pretty much no-marks before he took over. But when he's managing Madrid, Man Utd or even Chelsea the second time (with far more established and reputed players), they will not take this behaviour from the manager.

Mourinho definitely knows a lot about football, but he always demands that the club and players adapt to him... which is fine in second line clubs, but not among the elite.

But he can just tell the players to fuck off from the club behind closed doors. His methods just keeps making everyone angry and puts negative pressure on his players.

I can just speak from my point of view, I’ve worked in sales for a couple of years now, insurance, Investements and now real estate. If my boss started acting like Mourinho and calling people out at meetings infront of everyone, my focus would shift from selling and getting better at selling to actually being scared of not selling enough and get blasted by my boss. This ”put extreme pressure on players” method might work on some people, but not on everyone. Klopps method for an example is way more motivating for players.

Wow. Such a wierd feeling as a Swedish person to see his career come to end. I actually saw his last game in Sweden a lot of years ago live, I think it was around 2001, I was 7 years Old. What a fantastic man and career.
