how can 0:0 away be a considered acceptable?

One lucky counter-attack and all of a sudden you need to score twice...

So many opinions.

Mostly from people with no love for this club.
Jose has been in employment for 1.5 almost 2 years now.

1 small mickey mouse trophy and 1 not that easy to win europa league from last year.
For this year unless we win the fa cup, trophyless season while 2nd or 3rd spot in the league seems really secure. These are the very least basic objective required of a United manager but not meeting the bigger expectations.

He played for a 0-0 and maybe scrap a goal for the away game in sevilla simply because the entire world knew sevilla has 0 chance of getting past United at OT and it was the most sensible choice. The players let the club down 2 nights ago. Dont blame jose for this.
He set up the team to score and attack all night.

Personally, i will expect Jose to start playing the United way next season onwards since it'll be his 3rd year. Only park the bus when absolutely necessary. No more overly cautious approach on tight big games unless do or die scenario.

3rd year is when mourinho will suffer a complete meltdown

and sorry, but you will find many people that at least expected united to struggle big time, especially since a win was mandatory

its absolutely pathetic that you dont even try to push your own game through against sevilla
there is no way teams like real, barca, city or bayern would let them dominate, but somehow mourinho thinks that his "de gea will save us, long ball to lukaku" tactics are a good idea

go do some research. im quite sure the stats will be be good. teams who drew 0-0 away tend to qualify to the next round more often than not.

e/ here ya go

30 vs 21. thats a good stat to take the 0-0 away. Everyone is just bashing every decision jose makes when they backfire but do not give the man any decent credit.
I reiterate. the players let everyone down for that match. It was woeful. -_-
The worst home game we had for a few years.

0-0 away first legs under SAF felt much different than after the away leg vs Sevilla. its not the worst result in general (not ideal either) but with how the team was performing nicking a goal in Spain would have been immense.

so what, 30 vs 21 isnt a stat worth betting on and you dont seem to get the point

the whole thought process "ok boys, lets take a 0:0 from sevilla" where the whole team combined makes less than alexis alone is ridiculous
just one scene and you are done, what kind of "plan" is that?
and no, you dont have to expose your defence for some halfway decent football

do your thing, control the ball, which is by the way much safer than having it fly into your box all the time
and when its an even game, where you couldnt get the away goal......thats when you can take the 0:0

i do hope bayern gets sevilla in the next round so we can show you how to play in the cl ko stages

On Tuesday, Mourinho made a significant misstep. By pointing out that he had twice knocked Manchester United out of the Champions League, and so exit to Sevilla was no huge shock, he dramatically misjudged the mood. Having stifled his team against a lesser opponent, Manchester United supporters were not ready to hear about how successful their manager used to be. Mourinho was subject to ire that he has rarely encountered in his career.

Criticising referees for defeat is one thing, but blaming the entire recent history of your football club (and pointing to two exits under Alex Ferguson) is several bridges too far. After all, Mourinho was supposed to be the coach that altered this under-performance, not sustained it.

Sums up my thoughts on Jose at the moment pretty much.

Playing at home is a significant advantage, not sure how anyone can argue that.
