Come on you can't dodge that badly.

Its actually a subtle recognition of the fact that arsenal is trash and man united are doing well in the the EPL and champions league, and that perhaps those living in the fragile remnants of a decrepit 68 year old glass house shouldn't be casting stones.

If we gave up an extra 17 goals in the EPL and get smashed 10-2 in the champions league would that be 'real football'?

No, real football would be having more than 1 shot on target against 3rd rate Spanish teams after spending a king's hoard on players.

We've all grown up watching utd be the best team in the land, right now you're playing doggo football. You can dress it up however you want, it's dull, boring shite not worthy of the utd legacy.

yes. That's the thing with jose. if we win, the criticism wont be this much. but we havent been winning so that style of play issue comes up again.
Compare it with LVG, i take jose all day. LVG plays possession without attacking. Jose defends but attacks as well. Tho not pouring enough players upfront.

That doesn't mean a very intelligent and successful coach needs to be let go for playing strategically and defensively, or that its somehow not 'real football' being played when you are second in the league and still in the champions league.

'real football' isn't just attacking football that appeases rival fans with attention deficit disorders.
Real football isnt just football where you shoot more and win. Draws and losing are a part of the game too. So is defense. So is strategy.

Bringing this sort of criticism up right after a draw or loss and ignoring the success is reactionary garbage.

Yes it would be great if we could run through every team no matter how good they are and no matter where its played, and never have a bad game.
That option isn't on the table right now.

This '3rd rate' spanish team has a better home record than Real Madrid, but are weaker in away games.
I would much rather we play intelligently with what we have than throw caution to the wind to appease naysayers.
Losing to sevilla wouldn't do us any good. Now we have a better chance to advance with a win in the 2nd leg.
