Benteke has been wanting away from Villa now for 2-3 years, but not been allowed to leave. I think if his mentality is where I think it is, He will do enough to secure a move to a better team, but also little enough to keep the Villa team together. This will then force a move if they go down.

That's not true, he has always said that he needs to confirm his quality at Villa first. He's not your average footballer who just goes for the money, he wants to be threated as a normal person and felt like he still has to prove more at Villa.

I can't say for sure that he will remain at villa next season however
