"I hope you can all understand why I have made this decision," said the Uruguayan striker.

"This club did all they could to get me to stay, but playing and living in Spain, where my wife's family live, is a lifelong dream and ambition. I believe now the timing is right."
His move to Barcelona takes Suarez closer to his wife Sofia's family.

"It is with a heavy heart that I leave Liverpool for a new life and new challenges in Spain," he said.
"Both me and my family have fallen in love with this club (Liverpool) and with the city, but most of all I have fallen in love with the incredible fans.
"You have always supported me and we, as a family, will never forget it, we will always be Liverpool supporters."



Despite all the controversy and him wanting to leave in the end, still love the guy. He played his heart out for us, and was an absolute joy to watch.

I'm not happy with the move, but I can only wish him well and thank him for his services over the last few seasons. Another great player to wear our famous #7.

As a football player that played for my team, helped us get back into the Champions League and mount a serious title challenge, scored brilliant goals, provided brilliant assists, and was a joy to watch, what's not to love.

Despite the bans and all the controversy, we've hit heights we haven't in ages, and its part in thanks to his contribution.

He is not only one of the best players in the world, he has this passion that almost no player has.
Sure he flips sometimes by biting, but it's not like he's making legbreaking tackles like Pepe. I can understand people liking Suarez, in fact I admire the guys passion.

Sad to see him leave the BPL!

You seem to forget about the Madrid saga from last year when he basically went on a rampage sucking all madridista cocks and getting the hate of liverlool supporters.

Then he went humble, then he went biting, then humble again, then ...

I sees a pattern here.

We've got 75m in the bank, not bad for a 27 year old. He gave it his all while here and that's all you can really ask from a player.

As a player i cannot deny he`s world class and one of the most in-form strikers at the moment.

But still, the fact that he went cock-sucking on madrid makes me not want him at barcelona.

yeh, Markovic has been pretty much secured for the last couple of days, I hope he will prove out to be a good transfer.

Also, Aspas has been loaned out to Sevilla for a season.

As the rumours go, Liverpool are still going to sign 2-3 more players considering the newly boosted transfer budget
