I like Theo as a striker, much more than as a winger tbh, I think with time and experience, he can master his awareness and become deadly for any defense and he is just gonna be so hard to mark on counters.

thing is, Walcott is pretty useless against a deep lying defense because he can't abuse his speed, that's where you need a tall striker like Giroud, or atleast a more versatile striker.

I know, but Henry did a pretty good job nonetheless, that's why Walcott needs to step up his game, touches on the ball and awareness and shooting ability could use a boost aswell, but he is still young and can improve a lot. He is finally being played as a striker and look he already got a hattrick, I think he is doing great in the role so far and he will only grow with his age.

you can't learn everything through training.. Henry was a natural clinical finisher, Walcott is an average finisher at best.

I agree that Walcott has shown promising signs playing in the striker role, but he has yet to prove himself against greater teams. sure, he got a hattrick against a Newcastle team plagued by injuries (in fact I think they played with their B back four). I'd like to see him play as a striker against a big team.

I can agree on most parts, but I do think Theo is better than average at best and he will only get better, when he get's playing time in a position where he is more likely to take shots on goal. I also agree that with both Giroud and Walcott playing on top, would be ideal, but I doubt Wenger will just change his ways, eventhough it seems to logical.

How is the transfer news going? Anything decided or closer to being done? and how about Theo's contract.

Being linked with a move to the Emirates:

Adrian from Atletico
Turan from Atletico
Ba from Newcastle (unlikely)
zaha from Palace
M'vila from Rennes
Llorentte from Bilbao

Being linked with a move away from the Emirates

Djourou to hannover (loan)
Chamack to west ham (loan)
Arshavin to reading
Squillaci to sevilla
Santos to fenerbache

Walcotts contract is rumoured to being solved: 90k a week with a 4 year contract, nothing official tho.

Not bad, I also read some rumours about Nani, David Villa and Gourcuff(again, again... again)

Would be great, if Theo's contract could get solved.
