this piece of news went under the radar past week.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/money-louis-van-gaal-claims-11143782

“Were they unhappy about the results or the performances of the team under my management?

“No. But all of a sudden they could get Mourinho for the long term, a manager with a massive commercial value in the world.

“Woodward finally said this exactly so to me the day after the FA Cup Final.”

Van Gaal remains bitter about the way he was hung out to dry after leading the Reds to Wembley glory.

He added: “United put my head in a noose and I was publicly placed on the gallows.

“The pressure was enormous with my head in the noose and then they went right behind my back.

“I think it was all orchestrated like a film and it was done very much behind my back right from January.

“My wife, Truus, told me that the attitude of the board had changed. Women have this intuition. They smell it.

“I denied it, even to my wife, because between me as a manager and the chief executive Ed Woodward, everything was running as normal.”

Van Gaal said: “Suddenly former players started to yap in the media that we were playing boring football and Mourinho's sacking made it very attractive for everyone to keep bashing me.

“But I felt uneasy with the club signing Di Maria for €80million.

“I would never spend that amount of of money on a player.

this guy is so sour. You had indeed played negative defensive sideways possession football week in week out. against small opposition at home. against teams in league 1 and 2 during that league cup run.
You deserved to be sacked cant.

I'm not a fan of Van Gaal, but there's no need to name call him and he's right to be bitter about his sacking - he's told he's being let go immediately after winning the FA cup.

I don't buy it. His head wouldn't fit through any noose.

Poor guy though. His spell at Utd didn't go too well, and he has quite a bit of responsibility at that, but I still rate him and his departure wasn't handled in the best way possible by the club.

LVG spent was given countless millions to rebuild. And he played fucking boring football with it. If u read the article, he even says if he had chosen spurs he would have more success cause he wouldnt need to rebuild.
Woody not sacking him that december was kind enough which ultimately got him that fa cup so he can leave the club with a trophy.
every sacked manager can be bitter but lvg has no right to that.

He's not had the easiest of times by the club - he had always worked under a director of football and suddenly he has to be involved in transfer and contract negotiations among other stuff.

Plus Woodward was still inexperienced in his role and the whole club was recovering after the Moyes fiasco - I wish David Gill had stayed for a bit longer after Sir Alex retired.
