i mean although he was somewhat lucky to a degree it is still a huge achievement to make it to the EL finals with such a young team, and i'm sure he was a major factor in that.
however, what concerns me personally is that tactically, i didn't think they were too convincing or flexible for that matter.
what brough them there in MY opinion was a very positive, never give up attitude, and most players playing close to their personal limit, which leads me to believe he's great motivator at least...
still, i'd be happy to hear from someone who follows ajax and the dutch league in general more closely...
Well afaik he got decent results with Vitesses, but if I'm not mistaken Vitesse is a feeder club fro Chelsea which gets money and players from them, making them one of the best teams outside the dutch top 3. Then he took over the most powerful club in Israel, which had won the past 3 leagues (including a double the previous season), and he failed to win anything (runnerup in both competitions), although in his defense the new manager hasn't been any better and also ended up as double runnerup.
Obviously don't know enough of him to judge, but he seems like the typical guy who gets good results with 2nd rate teams, but is unable to win anything.
