It could only be taxes but he has no reason to go back to United. He's been in Madrid longer than he was in Manchester now by ~2 years. He can just pay the fine and complain about the regressive tax system via some pr campaign.
Barça just had their present/future star nipped off them by P$G and Mbappe is drooling to be signed for Madrid. Add in all their good business signings like Ceballos etc. Future looks good in Madrid
In all fairness I don't see him moving either. Would just be good fun to see Ronaldo in a proper league again.
