great chance for football? wtf are you talking about? what chance? it's a great story for sure but when you say "chance" does that mean you think the future of football is making 2nd and 3rd class footballers overperform once in a while? also, you make it sound like all other teams play without passion and only for money - some of them do, that's true but most certainly not all. sorry, but if you want to show that passion for football is stronger than money you will have to
- boycott the upcoming world cups and play alternative world cups in proper football countries
- boycott the next euro if it's held in the same format as the current one
- exclude all foreign owned oil clubs from all competitions
rooting for iceland just because their players are worse and therefore earn less MONEY seems like a stupid thing to do really.
i like them because of their passion and attitude, their team spirit and their ability to overcome their technical, tactical and individual shortcomings, their fans and the fact that they managed all of this despite being a tiny island nation of just 300k people...
that's more than enough (although maybe not considering im not flying an icelandic sig and avatar and pretend to be a viking), no need to make up some unfitting negative attributes for all the other teams imo...
