however, what concerns me personally is that tactically, i didn't think they were too convincing or flexible for that matter.
what brough them there in MY opinion was a very positive, never give up attitude, and most players playing close to their personal limit, which leads me to believe he's great motivator at least...

still, i'd be happy to hear from someone who follows ajax and the dutch league in general more closely...

Well his filosophy is the old ajax one, get the ball back in under 5 sec, he tries to play football. Yet he never won anything since he doesnt really adapt. He doesnt play to really win, and that made Mourinho quite clear in the final, he has had better material with Vitesse for years yet because he isnt willing to compromise his playstyle i.e. dropping low and counter attack play 5 3 2 for once, he never will be able to win anything imo. He does play some attractive football though, I've got to give him that.
