i use lb + tap x crossing, works good

Try double or triple tap
double tap is a medium height cross and triple tap is a ground cross, these go to the striker more often than the winger is my experience.

ive tried the double tap but 9/10 ends up at the goalkeeper lol

Yes but it's not the same imo... I prefer to buy them on the console to have a better feeling :P
