Well history says he wont score today. You never know though but with 2 solid defense like this and knowing they dont need to win.. Also their last major game went 120 minutes 0-0 before spain won 4-2 in penalties.

Pretty good bet saying no ronaldo wont score and the game will most likely end 0-0.. Anything can happen though.. But as a betting man it is always smarter to bet on history over what could happen

How common is a situation like this? Could the tournament be structured to avoid this by making sure the 2 highest seeded teams in a group always face each other in the 3rd match?

Or is that considered less important than keeping the "good games" spread out to ensure good tv ratings throughout?
