Those of us (not mexicunts) who have a brain don't need to see or touch a player to judge his ability.

Game was slow back then, football players were partially professional. It was more like playing in school yard.

For instance, there was this romanian guy who had the world record for goals in a season (which messi broke). Judging by your stupid assumptions we could say he was great when in fact due to the communist regime matches were fixed and he could have scored 5 times that. Same goes for madrid the franco era, when they were stealing points and goals all over.

Maradona carried a mediocre Napoli to 2 scudetti when Serie A was the most competitive league in the world. He also reached 2 WC finals (winning one of them), with argentinian sides that were worse than the current one.

Until someone manages to do something like that, I'll have a hard time considering someone else as the GOAT.

Messi won 3 champions league, reached one WC final with a rubbish team (except Mascherano (after his worst year as professional footballer), Agüero and Di Maria (injured)), and second top scorer in spanish league (top 1 maybe after this weekend).

Top scorer of the history of Clásicos, it's not easy to say.

If you talk only about shitty teams and WC finals, Romario kicks ass.

Messi has been a great player over the decade he has played and has achieved some impressive stuff, but he still hasn't done something on that level.

You use the national team performances as an argument, but c'mon, Maradona played twice as many finals while being in a team that was worse than the one Messi had. Not to mention that Maradona clearly carried Argentina, while Messi had a good group stage but then went downhill. He wasn't there when the team needed him the most.

And he plays in a much better club than Maradona, so obviously it's easier for him to win CLs; especially since it's easier to do so now that you don't need to win the league or be the current CL title holder in order to play in the following year's tournament. Maradona also played in a Serie A that was one of the most competitive leagues in football history, with italian teams consistently winning european trophies and there being many contenders for the scudetto.

Obviously, this isn't Messi's fault, but you can't just ignore this... Messi would have to do something really, really, really outstanding for the national team or dominate with Barça for much longer, in order to make up for what Diego achieved.

Right now I can see myself eventually considering Messi and Cristiano in the top 10 greatest footballers of all time; but they both still have to do more in order to be in the top 5, let alone top 1.

In 1990 Maradona didn't score any goal, what's the point then?

I have seen maybe the best match ever, 2-6 in Santiago Bernabeu, only one team scored 6 goals in Santiago Bernabeu and it was like 60~ years ago.

I have seen 5-0 against Real Madrid and Messi kicked the ball two times against the crossbar with a fantastic "vaselina".

I have seen Messi scoring 5 goals in a champions league match and it was against the second team of Germany in that time.

I have seen Messi scoring 4 goals in champions league match against Arsenal, with Cesc, Van Persie and all the rest.

Messi scored in the 2 finals that he played, and in 2006 he fucked Mourinho and Del Horno aswell.

Maradona could be whatever he wanted, but if you talk only about "yes, but if you saw Maradona, you will know, despite the titles". Then, you should google the name of Ronaldinho, more magic, more effective, more espectacular, better person.

And I say it and all of them played for Barça, but if you talk only about the titles; Messi. If you talk about magic; Ronaldinho. If you talk fanboys in Argentina; Maradona.

My girlfriend is from Argentina, she told me that they love Maradona and Messi in the same way.

Do you wanna a pic? If you guess the result of the clásico and the scorers, you will have it. Maybe naked if Messi scores 3 goals. I promise.

Enrique tells Messi to come out, but Messi ignores his request and walks on

instead of pulling Messi out, Enrique chooses to sacrifice Neymar lol

+thatsamekid Said nobody ever who knows football. Do you know Messi? He is a God, a God has the word above some manager. Messi is the number one of all times above Pele & Maradona. Ronaldo is not even top 10 of all times and he also has the word above his manager.

lmao wtf this reply. randomly bringing up Pele, Maradona, and Ronaldo
