Yeah, because Zinedine Zidane didn't win 3 * Fifa world player of the year + ballon d'or (in the most competitive era of football history) + a real Golden ball as the MVP of the WC (not an undeserved sympathy trophy for not amounting to shit, like Messi got) + a real golden ball as the MVP of EC (are there any other players who won the golden ball in the euro and world cup at the same time, except Zidane? Yeah... because the Brazil of 1998 wasn't a dream team at all... with Zidane: 3-0.. without maybe 1-2 or 0-2.

Oh and thanks for pointing out world cup 2002.

1998 Zidane fit --> world's best team
2000 Zidane fit --> world's best team (well Euro winners anyways, pretty much same thing)
2002 Zidane injured --> 0 goals, 0 points, complete failure. A fit Zidane would have led to a 2002 world cup win
2006 Zidane fit (though 34 y/o!) --> best team of the WC until Zidane's red card.

Messi lovers only argument are these shitty awards he somehow wins after playing like crap in a tournament. WC 2014 is a perfect example of this
