On other news, Mallorca's website announced yesterday that Utz Claassen (owner of 45% of the club) has bought Serra Ferrer's shares (49%), so he now has 94% of the club. So, basicly he now has complete control. I don't trust Classen because he's a shady guy that has had legal problems in the past, but the good side is that at least now someone in the club will be able to make decisions and there will be stability.

I'm saying that Karpin's job is still on the line because Classen has never liked Karpin and he always wanted another coach, so let's see what happens.

Now all that's left is to hope the Classen era works out well.

Tought I'd share this here; Dennis Praet has been named player of the year in Belgium! Mathew Ryan got the keeper of the year achievement while Besnik Hasi won the coach of the year. Tielemans won the youth player of the year

Mallorca will be playing home against Mirandés today.

Mirandés relegated last year, but they managed to get their spot back in Segunda because Murcia was relegated due to their debts. They have a very small budget and everyone epected them to relegate again this year, however so far they are doing grat and are 7th placed atm.

However, Mallorca still has to win this, and there'd be no excuse for not wining home against a squad with 10 times less budget.

Mallorca 2 - 0 Mirandés

Not the most entertaining game, but we did get a deserved win and that's all that matters.

And thus concludes the first half of the season. We're 10th (could be 11th by the end of the night), 4 points away from promotion playoffs, and 13 below direct promotion. Very dissapointing overall as we were supposed to be fighting for direct promotion and right now it seems like we're going to have to settle with fighting for the 6th spot.

Hopefully now that there's stability in the board with Classen controling 94% of the shares, things will calm down and the next 21 games go better. So far, some signings are coming, which is good, although I don't think the squad itself is the problem but rather the manager.

2-0 at the weekend, nice win! And play again tomorrow, before playing Man City at the weekend :O

Can't wait to watch that game...

Hey Mr_Mill... Gunna watch Vossen play against a real opposition with me? :D I didn't get tickets this time... They sold out in 2 hours, and had to be to season ticket holders only... Never made it to general sale xD
